Chapter 1

Meadow flipped the sign on the shop door to "Open" and stepped back to admire the window display. The Rosebud Crystal Garden needed to become more than just her little metaphysical shop—it had to be the place where everyone in Blushton came for spiritual guidance. She adjusted a cluster of rose quartz on the counter, remembering her festival days when these same stones lived in her backpack. Now they sat in her own shop, waiting for customers who would feel the same pull she'd felt years ago. This was just the beginning. Mari arrived after school and found Meadow rearranging the front window for the third time. "Mom, it looked good an hour ago," she said, dropping her backpack behind the counter. Meadow turned, bracelets clinking. "I know, but what if people walk by and don't even notice us? We need to be impossible to miss." She grabbed Mari's hand and pulled her outside. The baby pink exterior of Blossom Haze glowed in the afternoon light. Climbing vines wrapped around the doorframe, and wind chimes sang above them. "This place is going to change everything for us," Meadow said. Mari squeezed her hand once, then headed back inside to do homework. Meadow spent the next hour building a pink wooden shelf to display crystals outside. She painted it to match the shop's exterior and let it dry in the sun. While she waited, she worked on her sandwich board, also painted baby pink. She wrote "Crystal Readings Inside" across the top in purple chalk. On the bottom she added "Mercury's Direct—Good Vibes Only!" When the shelf dried, she loaded it with amethyst clusters and small pouches of rose quartz. She carried both pieces to the sidewalk and arranged them where people could see them from either direction. A man walking past slowed down to look at the crystals. Meadow's heart jumped. She stepped forward with her biggest smile. "That amethyst is perfect for clarity," she said. "I literally had a vision about someone needing this exact stone today." The man nodded and kept walking. Meadow watched him go, then straightened the crystals on the shelf. She looked back at Blossom Haze with its pink walls and jingling chimes. One person stopped today. Tomorrow it would be two, then five, then twenty. The Rosebud Crystal Garden would become exactly what she envisioned—Blushton's spiritual hub, where everyone came to find what they needed.
