Briana Facta pushed through the snow-covered pine branches, her breath misting in the frozen air. The Frosty Wonderland stretched endlessly before her, all white slopes and ice-blue shadows. She'd been searching for three years now, following every rumor and whispered story about her sister. They'd been torn apart when the Great Freeze came, and Briana wouldn't stop until she found her again. A glint of color caught her eye through the white landscape. She moved closer and found a Rainbow Medic Kit propped against a wooden post in the town center. The bright colors stood out like a beacon. Messages and notes covered the post behind it, each one a desperate plea or hopeful lead. Briana pulled out her pencil and added her own message about her sister. Someone had to know something. The tandem bike leaned against a nearby building, its ocean-blue paint chipped from hard use. Briana ran her hand along the frame. It was perfect for long trips, built for two riders but she'd ridden it alone for months now. The empty seat behind her was a constant reminder of who she was looking for. She'd traveled across dozens of frozen towns on this bike, and she wouldn't stop riding until both seats were filled. A traveler passing through mentioned a Pink and Gold Stadium three days north. People gathered there from all over the Frosty Wonderland, he said. Families reunited there all the time. Briana felt hope flare in her chest for the first time in weeks. She packed her supplies, checked the bike's tires, and studied her map. The stadium would be her next stop. Maybe this time, her search would finally end.
