Runes covered its surface, glowing faintly in the shade. This ancient book held secrets that could change minds and spark curiosity. He slithered toward a fallen log at the edge of the clearing. The log sat higher than the surrounding grass, perfect for what he had in mind. Kylithos climbed onto it and opened the tome. The symbols blazed brighter now, casting blue light across the pages. If he read from this book, others would come. Travelers would stop to listen. Curious creatures would gather to hear the ancient words.
