Zeus's Arc

Zeus stood at the center of his throneroom, fists clenched at his sides. The golden crown pressed heavy against his temples. He wanted more than this single chamber. He wanted all of Mount Olympus beneath his rule. Every god would bow to him. Every throne would answer to his command. His gaze swept across the empty marble floor. This room was too small for what he envisioned. He needed a palace worthy of absolute power. Zeus raised his arms and pulled divine light from the air itself. Gold streamed from his fingertips. Crystal formed in spiraling columns. The walls expanded outward, marble flowing like water. The Palazzo di Zeus took shape around him, vast and gleaming. At the far end of the new hall, he created his seat of judgment. The Royal Golden Throne rose from the floor, carved with images of lightning and eagles. Gold wrapped around marble in perfect spirals. The throne caught the light and threw it back in brilliant rays. Zeus climbed the steps and sat down. From here, he could see everything. But seeing wasn't enough. He needed the other gods to prove their loyalty. Zeus closed his eyes and felt the mountain beneath him. Far below his palace, he forced stone and gold to shift once more. The Arean Coliseum erupted from the rock, a massive arena where warriors could fight. Any god who wanted his favor would have to earn it there. Zeus opened his eyes and smiled. His empire was beginning to take form.
