Princess Blueberry stood in front of her bedroom mirror, adjusting her tiara with one spotted paw. Her pink dress swished as she turned left, then right. She had a dream bigger than any palace—to win the grand championship trophy at the national dog show. Every day she practiced her walk, her sit, and her stay. Today would be different though. Today she would start training for real. She trotted outside to her backyard where a smooth wooden beam waited. The polished surface gleamed in the morning light. Princess Blueberry placed one paw on the balance beam, then another. She wobbled. Her tail swung out to steady herself. Step by careful step, she moved forward. This was how champions trained their coordination. After an hour of practice, she needed to find real competitions to enter. Princess Blueberry walked through town until she spotted something unusual—a terrarium made of frost and metal sitting on a bench. Inside, between the herbs and electronics, she found a flyer. "National Championship at The Enigmatic Library of Locksmouth," it read. Her heart beat faster. That was where she would compete. She memorized the address and the date. Three months away. Princess Blueberry touched her tiara and smiled. She had her training equipment. She had her goal. Now she just needed to work harder than any dog had worked before. The grand championship trophy was waiting for her at that library, and she would be ready to win it.
