Chapter 1

Razor T. stood on the beach at dawn, his blue tail sweeping patterns in the sand. He dragged a surfboard under one arm and a skateboard under the other. The ocean called to him, but so did the concrete paths along the shore. He wanted to build something bigger than just catching waves or grinding rails. A surf school—one that taught kids both kinds of riding. He needed a place to start. The beach was perfect for surfing, but beginners needed flat ground first. Balance came before waves. Razor walked along the coast until he spotted it—a wooden boardwalk that stretched along the waterfront. The boards were smooth and wide, with tropical flowers carved into the railings. It was flat, safe, and close to the water. Perfect for teaching kids to push and glide before they ever touched a surfboard. He set his skateboard down and rolled it across the wood. The wheels hummed. This was it. His school had found its first classroom. But flat ground wasn't enough. Students needed to learn tricks, too. Razor wandered further into Okie Dokie, scanning the streets for the right spot. He found a row of stone benches covered in bright tropical flowers. Green plants grew around them in thick clusters. The benches were low, sturdy, and smooth. He hopped on his board and rolled toward the nearest one. His wheels left the ground. He landed clean on the stone edge, sliding across before dropping back down. These would work. Students could practice balance moves here, learn to jump and control their boards. Between the boardwalk and the benches, he had the start of something real. His surf school was taking shape. Now he needed walls and a roof. A real building where students could sign up and store their gear. Razor explored the streets near the boardwalk until he found an empty building painted in bright colors. The walls showed painted waves and skaters mid-trick. The front had big windows and a wide door. Inside was open space with wooden floors. He walked through each room, his sneakers squeaking on the boards. This could be the school. Kids could meet here before heading to the boardwalk or benches. They could learn ocean safety at tables inside, then grab boards and hit the water. Razor pressed his hand against the doorframe and grinned. His dream had a home now. The Tropical Surf & Skate School was ready to open.
