Chapter 1

Aphrodite stepped into the marble courtyard of the Aphroditian Baths, her flower crown catching the morning light. She had one dream that burned brighter than any flame: to become the greatest matchmaker in all the land, uniting pairs that everyone else called impossible. Her eyes swept across the grounds until they landed on the perfect spot. The Thermae of Aphrodite rose before her—a grand gazebo that gleamed with gold and crystal. Divine light poured through its columns, making the marble glow. This would be her headquarters, the place where she would bring together the most unlikely couples. She walked up the polished steps and placed her hand on a crystal pillar. The gazebo felt right, like it was made just for this purpose. Here, she would greet nervous lovers and skeptical pairs. Here, she would prove that any two hearts could find their match, no matter how different they seemed. Aphrodite smiled as the morning sun warmed her face. Her matchmaking business would begin today, in this celestial bathhouse, and nothing would stop her from achieving her dream. She needed a place where strangers could sit and talk without feeling trapped. Near the gazebo's edge, she found the perfect answer—a golden seat covered in fresh flowers and delicate sea shells. The seat curved gently, forcing two people to face each other. She tested it, running her fingers over the smooth petals. Yes, this would work. Couples could meet here, share their stories, and maybe find something unexpected. But people needed more than just a place to sit. They needed something to help them open up, to speak their real wishes out loud. Aphrodite walked through the courtyard until she discovered a fountain built from gold and marble. Pearls dotted its edges, and flowers floated in the clear water. She watched the water flow and knew exactly what this fountain could do. People could come here, whisper their hopes about love, and maybe—just maybe—those wishes would come true. Everything was ready. Her dream was about to begin.

Chapter 2

Aphrodite opened the carved wooden doors of the Thermae for the first time as a matchmaker. Her heart hammered against her ribs. She had the perfect place, the beautiful fountain, the golden seat—but she didn't have any clients yet. No one knew she existed. She walked through the quiet courtyard and realized the hard truth: building a business meant more than just setting up pretty spaces. She needed to learn how to find people who needed her help. She needed to figure out what questions to ask them. Most of all, she needed to prove she could actually match two people who seemed wrong for each other. The morning sun climbed higher, and Aphrodite made herself a promise. Today, she would find her very first impossible pair. She left the bathhouse and walked until she found a library that stretched toward the sky. Gold covered its columns, and marble steps led to massive doors. Inside, crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, throwing light across rows and rows of scrolls. This was the Athenian Bibliotheca. Aphrodite pulled scroll after scroll from the shelves, searching for answers. What made two people fit together? Why did some couples work while others failed? She read about personality types, about shared values, about the things people needed to feel loved. Hours passed. Her fingers traced over words about trust, about listening, about seeing past the surface. By the time she stepped back into the afternoon light, she carried something more valuable than any treasure. She knew the right questions to ask. She knew what signs to look for. Now she was ready to find her first impossible pair and prove her skills were real. The sun had already begun to set when she returned to the bathhouse. Shadows stretched across the courtyard, making it hard to see. The fountain barely glowed in the fading light. Aphrodite frowned. How could she meet with clients when darkness made everything disappear? She needed light that would last through the evening hours. She searched the grounds until she found what she needed—chandeliers made of gold and pure diamonds, covered with fresh flowers. She hung them from the trees around the courtyard, spacing them so their glow reached every corner. When she lit them, the diamonds caught the flames and threw sparkles across the marble. The flowers added color to the golden light. Now people could find her way here even after the sun went down. Her matchmaking business could stay open into the night. Everything was finally in place. Tomorrow, she would begin her search for that first impossible pair, and nothing would hold her back. But she still needed somewhere safe to keep her work. Rain could ruin her notes about clients. Wind could scatter the pages she'd written. Near the entrance, she spotted an ornate credenza covered in flowers and pearls, its golden surface catching the chandelier light. She ran her hand across the smooth wood and opened its doors. Inside were shelves perfect for storing scrolls and papers. She could keep everything organized here—each client's story, each compatibility chart, each question she'd learned to ask. The credenza would protect her work from the weather while keeping everything close at hand. Aphrodite placed her first blank scroll inside and closed the doors. Her matchmaking business was truly ready now. She had knowledge, light, and order. Tomorrow, the real work would begin.

Chapter 3

Aphrodite stood at the fountain's edge and watched the water flow over pearls and flowers. She had everything ready—the golden seat, the bright chandeliers, her notes locked safely in the credenza. But the bathhouse felt too small now. If she wanted to master matchmaking, she needed to understand people from different places, with different dreams. The Aphroditian Baths were beautiful, but they were just one corner of a much bigger world. She adjusted her flower crown and smiled. Tomorrow, she would explore beyond these marble walls and discover what else this world could teach her about bringing impossible pairs together. Morning came, and she walked the grounds with fresh eyes. Near the edge of the property, she found a marble statue she'd never noticed before. A couple stood frozen in each other's arms, their faces carved with such care that she could almost feel their happiness. The statue reminded her why this work mattered. Someone had made this to honor a pair that defied the odds. She touched the cold marble and felt something click into place. This statue would show visitors that impossible matches could work. It would prove her dream was real. She turned back toward the main building and studied the entrance. People walking past had no idea what happened inside these walls. They needed to see something that would make them stop and wonder. She found a woven tapestry rolled up near the storage room—it showed lovers surrounded by flowers, their arms wrapped tight around each other. She hung it where sunlight would catch it, where anyone passing by would see. The tapestry announced her purpose without saying a word. Now people would know they could find a matchmaker here, someone who specialized in bringing together pairs that seemed all wrong. But she still needed a way to meet new people, to learn their stories in a place that felt safe and relaxed. Behind the main building, she discovered a pool she'd overlooked before. Marble edges held steaming water, and someone had placed candles around the rim. Gold details caught the light. She knelt and dipped her fingers into the warm water. This pool could host gatherings where strangers talked over drinks and food. People would relax here, share their dreams, maybe discover they had more in common than they thought. Aphrodite stood and looked around at everything she'd built. The bathhouse wasn't just beautiful anymore. It was a place where impossible love could begin, where the world itself seemed to support her dream of mastering matchmaking.
