Bizzy Dee follows Bosco down the alley for the third time this week. He keeps trotting toward the same abandoned lot, tail high, like he's got somewhere important to be. She's got her notebook in her jacket pocket and a head full of permit rejections, but right now she just wants to see what's pulling him back here. Bosco stops at a stone structure she's walked past a hundred times without really seeing it. Round walls, curved dome, wooden door hanging half-open. Behind it sits a fenced yard stacked with lumber, organized in neat rows like someone meant to come back. The wood looks dry, protected under tarps that held. She pushes through the gate and finds rain catchment barrels, coils of copper pipe, even bags of concrete mix sealed tight against the weather. She pulls out her notebook and starts writing. Enough material here to build half her project without waiting on suppliers or begging the city for funds. The permit office can't say no if she shows up with everything already paid for, already on site. Her pen moves fast across the page, sketching layouts, calculating what she can do with what's here. By the time she looks up, Bosco's sitting in the doorway of the stone building, watching her with that steady cat patience. She walks over and props a wooden sign against the fence where the alley opens up. Two words in white paint: Community Resources. The neighbors will see it. They'll ask questions. And she'll have answers this time, real ones, about what they can build together.
