Chapter 3

Chaos stood at the edge of the clearing and studied the family tree they'd carved into living wood. Each branch showed a name, a connection, a possible bridge toward unity. They touched Zeus's branch and felt their jaw tighten. That betrayal still burned. But below it, Hestia's name brought warmth. The tree mapped every relationship—who might speak to whom, who needed time, who could never share the same space. Chaos stepped back and let their hand fall. This living record would show them the path forward, one careful conversation at a time. But a map wasn't enough. The family needed a place where conflict could end, where grudges might finally die. Chaos walked beyond the clearing until they found open ground. They raised their hands and pulled stone from deep beneath the earth. Columns rose, thick and tall. Carvings spread across the surface—patterns that matched the chaos inside them. The temple took shape as a place to settle disputes, to make real peace. Chaos stepped through the entrance and felt the space settle around them. Here, even Zeus might listen. Here, old wounds could close. Still, gods needed more than sacred ground. They needed reason to stay, to talk, to remember they were family. Chaos shaped wood and stone into a low building with tables inside. The bar would hold food and drink. Stories could be shared here—the old tales that reminded everyone where they came from. Chaos ran their hand along a wooden beam. Hestia would feel at home in a place like this. Others might follow her lead. Chaos returned to the statue in the clearing and stood before it. The temple for making peace. The bar for sharing stories. The carved tree showing every connection. Three places now existed in this world, each one built to draw the family closer. They pressed their palm against the cool stone of the statue. The work had just begun, but the foundation was solid. One conversation would lead to another. One gathering would build trust for the next. Chaos closed their eyes and felt something unfamiliar—hope.
