Granny Gremlin taught Bonnie how to wash her face properly and apply basic cream. They practiced on a flat rock, using water from the well and samples from Granny's collection. Bonnie learned to dab, not rub. She learned which products went on first and which came last. By noon, her notebook had five new pages of notes. Granny smiled and patted Bonnie's shoulder. "You have the basics now, dear. The rest is just practice and observation." Bonnie tucked her notebook away and thanked the older gremlin. She looked toward Dottie's white house in the distance. The desert stretched between them, hot and wide. But now Bonnie had real knowledge to build on. She knew how beauty routines worked. She understood the steps. All she needed now was to see Dottie's specific methods—and find a way past those traps. Bonnie adjusted her pink headband and started walking. The dream felt closer than ever. Bonnie followed a path that led toward the center of town. A stone statue stood in the town square, taller than any gremlin. The figure wore a dress from another time and held a mirror in one hand. A bronze plate at the base read "Miss Magnolia - Beauty Master." Bonnie circled the statue slowly, studying the carved details. This gremlin had been important enough for a monument. She had learned everything about beauty and become a legend. Bonnie touched the cool stone base. If Miss Magnolia could do it, then so could she. Past the statue, Bonnie spotted wooden steps leading down into the ground. A sign pointed toward an underground spa carved into the sandstone. Bonnie descended into the cool darkness and found herself in a room with smooth walls and small pools of water. Three gremlins sat on stone benches, soaking their feet and talking. One held up a small jar. "This cream works better than anything I've tried." Another gremlin laughed and passed around samples. Bonnie sat on an empty bench and listened. They talked about which oils worked best and how long to let masks dry. She opened her notebook and wrote down everything she heard. When Bonnie climbed back into the sunlight, she noticed a bright wooden stand near the path. Glass bottles hung from hooks, catching the light. Hand-painted signs advertised beauty lessons in bold letters. One sign read "Learn from the Best - Ask Granny." Bonnie smiled. Granny was teaching others, just like she had taught Bonnie. The town was full of gremlins who cared about beauty. The spa, the statue, the teaching stand—it all meant something. This place understood what Bonnie wanted. It showed her that her dream was worth chasing. She walked back toward the desert with her notebook full and her head high. The world was helping her learn, one step at a time.
