Chapter 1

Edward Gold adjusted his glasses and smoothed his orange-striped fur. The young cat had a dream that kept him awake at night. He wanted to build a business school for everyone in Tongassia, not just the rich folks. His briefcase held notebooks full of plans and ideas. The empty lot on Market Street caught his eye every morning. Edward walked past it again today, paws crunching on gravel. He stopped and stared at the space. His tail swished behind him. This could work. This could be where his dream became real. A building could go right here—gold, blue, and green walls reaching up toward the sky. He would call it La Feet Advanced Business Development Institute. Edward opened his briefcase and pulled out his sketches. He saw desks where students would sit and learn. Computer stations lined the walls in his drawings. Each desk would give someone a chance to run a practice business. They would learn by doing, not just by reading. His paw traced the outline of the building on the paper. He looked up from his drawings and smiled. The school needed one more thing. People had to know about the classes. Edward sketched a message board—bright and electronic, impossible to miss. It would show times for lectures and meetings. Everyone who walked by would see it. His dream was taking shape, piece by piece. Edward closed his briefcase and headed home to work on the details.

Chapter 2

Edward pulled out his notebook and opened to a fresh page. He needed to start somewhere, and planning meant nothing without action. His paw gripped the pen tightly. First, he had to figure out how much money the school would cost. His tail curled around his legs as he wrote down numbers—supplies, desks, computers, teachers. The total made his whiskers droop. He would need help, lots of it. Edward closed the notebook and tucked it under his arm. Tomorrow he would visit the bank to ask questions about loans. Today he learned that dreams cost more than passion. The next morning, Edward walked through the doors of La Feet Education Development School. The tan brick building with yellow trim stood quiet in the early light. Other educators had built programs here, and Edward needed to see how they did it. He spent hours reading through teaching manuals and curriculum guides. His glasses slipped down his nose as he took notes. The ancient manuscripts showed him that good schools started small and grew over time. Edward left with his briefcase full of copied materials and new ideas. Back at the empty lot, he pictured students sitting outside under the sun. He ordered blue tables and chairs for a patio area. Students could work on projects together in the fresh air. Business lessons worked better when people could talk and share ideas. The outdoor space would give them room to think. He spotted one more problem as he looked at his building plans. Power outages happened in Tongassia, sometimes for hours. Edward found a sleek black generator with red trim at the supply store. The solar panels would keep the computers and lights running when everything else went dark. He set it up near the building site and tested it twice. His school would stay open no matter what. Edward adjusted his glasses and smiled. One step at a time, his dream was becoming real.

Chapter 3

Edward tucked his building plans under one arm and headed toward the old municipal records office. He needed permits, and permits meant dealing with clerks who understood rules better than dreams. His briefcase bumped against his leg as he walked. The records office held information about zoning laws and business licenses. Every successful school in Tongassia had started here, filling out forms and waiting for stamps. Edward pushed through the heavy wooden door and approached the counter. A stack of applications sat in a wire basket. He grabbed three copies and found a seat by the window. His pen moved across the pages, filling in every blank space with careful details. This was how dreams became official—one form at a time. Three hours later, Edward left with stamped papers and an address for the zoning committee. His next stop was the stoneworks yard on the east side. The school needed an entrance that would make people stop and look. He found a craftsman who specialized in gates and explained what he wanted. A stone structure with large windows and a welcoming entrance hall. Something that said this place matters. The craftsman nodded and sketched while Edward talked. The quote was fair, and Edward signed the contract. His school was getting its face. Edward's stomach reminded him he had skipped breakfast. He spotted a coffee shop with a weathered brick exterior and dark yellow letters that read Dancing Dead Coffee. Inside, three business owners sat at a corner table discussing expansion plans. Edward ordered tea and listened. This was exactly what his community needed—a place where ideas could flow as freely as the drinks. He pulled out his notebook and added coffee shop gatherings to his curriculum plans. Students would meet here to practice pitches and build connections. The owner noticed his sketches and asked questions. Edward explained his school, and the owner offered to host weekly student meetups. Another piece clicked into place. By evening, Edward stood at his building site again. He pictured something else the school needed. A monument to show what business education could do for regular people. Bronze plaques with names and achievements. Margaret from his data club would be on it someday. Young Timothy planning his early retirement. Every student who used what they learned to build something better. The monument would sit outside where everyone could see it. Edward adjusted his glasses and smiled. His school was becoming more than buildings and permits. It was becoming proof that dreams could work.
