Bill opened his eyes and looked at his pond. Something was missing. The water was there. The reeds were there. But there was no proper spot for a nap, and more importantly, no place to keep snacks within arm's reach. A duck of leisure needed both, quacko. He stood up and walked around the pond's edge. A log cabin sat near the water, surrounded by tall grass and smooth stones. The porch faced the pond directly. Shade fell across wooden planks that looked wide enough for sleeping. Bill climbed the steps and lay down on the porch. His hand hung over the edge, close enough to reach a future snack bowl. He closed his eyes. The best snack in the forest would need the best spot to eat it from, and he'd just found it, quacko.
