Larry Leaper never walked when he could leap. He wanted a leaping academy, a place where every restless kid in town learned to bound instead of trudge. Today six kids stood on his porch, waiting for their first lesson. Larry grinned and launched himself off the springy steps of his house. He soared, tucked his knees, and landed clean. "Now you try!" he shouted. The kids tried. A boy in a red cap sprang too hard and crashed into the railing. A girl leaped sideways and skinned both knees. Two more tangled legs and fell in a heap.
