Randy Ruby climbed into his car while the rest of the Racers were still watching the monitors. Route 7 had three slides and someone needed to clear it. He turned the key and pulled out, heading for the blocked highway alone. The red racecar hugged the turns as Randy drove toward Route 7. He kept one hand on the wheel and one on the morpher clipped to his belt. The device pulsed with a faint light, ready for when he needed it. Fifty wins taught him to prepare before the problem arrived. He rounded the final bend and saw the damage. The first two slides had scattered rocks across both lanes. The third slide was worse. A white sedan sat buried under a mountain of jagged stone, only the roof and windshield visible through the debris. The glass was still intact. Randy pulled his car to the edge of the blockage and killed the engine. He grabbed the morpher and stepped out. The road was completely blocked now, and someone was trapped under tons of rock. His team would arrive soon, but the person in that car didn't have time to wait.
