Larkspur Manor
Set in the late 1700s, Larkspur Manor rests deep within the beautiful French countryside. The AuClairs, a very minor and poor noble family, strive to live a quiet life on their generational family estate away from the politcal intrigues of Versailles. The AuClair family differ from most of the french nobility in this time period, by having close relationships and deeply caring for the peasants that live and work on the estate. The peasants that live and work on the estateare also deeply loyal to the Auclair family. Henri the family patriarch, worries about the recent poor harvests and polical unrest in the country. He has barely managed to feed his family and the peasants they employ and house on their estate the last two years. Henri fears that next year he may not be able to make ends meet or that he may be called away into service by the king. He has hired a steward to help run his affairs not realising that his wife Madeleine has being running the details and cleaning up after him behind the scenes. She keeps her role hidden from her husband to save his pride while training their oldest child Alexandre to be able to run the estate after them. Monsieur Gaillard the new steward, however may not have the best intentions.
