Chapter 2

Charlotte refreshed Discord. The episode had been live for forty minutes and the six participants had already watched it. Comments piled up under the announcement. Three users tagged Hello-Kitty-istrash28 with skull emojis and villain energy. Two others posted hearts at Blush-the-Nintendobunny58 and called her precious. Then someone new appeared. The username was ArtemisDivine99, and the attached image made Charlotte's breath stop. An angel locked in combat with a demon, white wings against black tendrils, divine fury meeting hellish rage. The Mii itself sat beside the sculpture like a choice between salvation and damnation. Jesus in flowing robes on one side, a horned demon clutching a wooden sign that read OR on the other. The message underneath said: "For your series. Any role works." Within minutes, the villain camp claimed it. Hello-Kitty-istrash28 posted three fire emojis and wrote "Dark Lord material." But Blush-the-Nintendobunny58 fired back immediately with "No way, that's clearly a fallen hero trying to find redemption." The thread exploded. Charlotte watched twenty-three messages appear in four minutes. Users she'd never seen before joined the argument. Someone built a case for why the demon represented the villain faction. Another wrote three paragraphs about the angel symbolizing hope. The original six participants split down the middle, three on each side, and the new voices only made it louder. Charlotte's mouse hovered over the reply box. She could assign the role right now and end this. Pick villain or hero, post the decision, move on to episode two. She closed the reply box and screenshot the entire argument instead. Forty-seven messages now, still climbing. This was better than any script she could've written. Charlotte uploaded the screenshot to her project file and saved ArtemisDivine99's submission without assigning a role. The chaos would keep going until she posted episode two, and she'd let both sides think they still had a chance. The series had an audience now, even if they were too busy fighting to notice they were building her content for her.
