Marco went to sleep by the fire after their kiss. Tucker and Asher had gone off into the trees. Ajax sat on the flat stone with his cup empty. His blood was still up from the beer and from Marco's mouth. He heard boots on gravel and looked up. Tucker was coming back alone, buckling his belt as he walked. Ajax raised an eyebrow. "Quick." "Asher fell asleep on me," Tucker said. He shrugged. "Beer does that." He stopped in front of Ajax and did not sit. His vest was still off. The two flat chains lay against his chest hair. He looked down at Ajax on the stone. "You flexed at us earlier," Tucker said. "I've been thinking about it." "Have you." "Let me feel your chest while you flex. That's all. Rule says consent. I'm asking." Ajax weighed it. Marco was asleep. Chalam was out with Grayson on the tree line. The camp was quiet. The ask was small and clean, no oil, no ring, no working. Just a hand. "Once," Ajax said. He stood up. He set his feet apart and pulled in a slow breath. He brought his arms up and squeezed his chest and biceps together, the way he did stacking stone. Tucker stepped in close. He laid his palm flat on Ajax's chest, over the gold chain his father had left him. He moved his hand slow, feeling the muscle under the hair. He pressed once, then slid up to the shoulder. "Hell," Tucker said, quiet. Ajax turned his arm and flexed the bicep for him. Tucker cupped it, weighed it, ran his thumb along the peak. Ajax let him. He liked being looked at like that. He held the pose longer than he needed to. "Other one," Tucker said. Ajax switched arms. Tucker felt that one too, then dropped his hand to his side and stepped back a pace. He didn't push further. He knew where the line was. "Thanks," Tucker said. "Worth the ask." Ajax nodded and grabbed him by the belt to pull him very close and said, “Don’t tighten your belt so fast” as he laid him on the ground and passionately kissed him for a long time. Each feeling the others hard muscles. They pulled their clothes back on afterward and slept soundly and safely by the fire until morning.
