Mariel posted the family reveal video and opened the next poll. The comments flooded in faster than before. Her viewers wanted pets now — one for each side. She set up the voting form with two slots: one for the hero's side, one for the villain's. The results came in within hours. For the good side: flowerdeil512, a name soft enough to belong to a creature that ate flowers and slept in sunshine. For the bad side: hello-Kitty-is-evil84, a name that made Mariel pause. She opened the character creator and built a white unicorn with a rainbow mane and a pink heart on its flank for the hero's pet. She placed it in a meadow dotted with wild roses. Then she built the villain's horse — a black unicorn with flames licking up from its hooves and glowing red eyes. She gave it a collar made of thorns and placed it in a field of scorched earth. When she exported both, she knew she needed something to tie them together visually. She opened the map editor and built a stable split down the middle: one half pale pink with daisies climbing the walls, the other half dark magenta with skulls carved into the wood. She positioned it at the exact center of the cracked heart statue, so both horses could exist in the same space without touching. But when she tried to write the reveal script, the words would not come. The good side's unicorn was exactly what she expected — sweet, harmless, easy to love. The villain's horse was too much. The flames, the thorns, the red eyes — it looked like something that would burn down the stable and eat the other horse. She had built it that way because the name demanded it, because her viewers had voted for it, but now she had to make it work in the story. She touched her ribbon and stared at the two horses on her screen. If she softened the villain's pet, her viewers would notice. If she kept it this way, the hero's side would look weak by comparison. Mariel deleted the thorned collar and replaced it with a chain that glowed faintly red. She dimmed the flames to embers that smoldered instead of roaring. She kept the red eyes. Then she recorded the reveal, narrating how both pets would meet at the divided stable but never cross into each other's territory. When she posted it, the comments exploded. Her viewers loved the contrast. They loved the danger. They wanted to see what would happen when the two horses finally faced each other. Mariel closed the laptop and leaned back. She had given them what they wanted, but she had also kept control. The villain's horse was still a threat, but it was her threat now. She had shaped it into something she could use.
