Mira opened her laptop and posted the announcement video at midnight. She didn't expect anyone to watch it right away. But when she checked her phone the next morning, two comments sat at the bottom of the screen. The first one asked if she could add the viewer's sister to the game. The second wanted their boyfriend included. Both comments felt urgent, like they needed an answer now. Mira stared at the red subscribe button on her channel page, the one with zero followers turned into two. It felt like a crown she hadn't earned yet, heavy and gleaming with possibility she wasn't ready for. She opened the file where she'd saved her cast list. The document sat locked behind her decision to keep episode one exactly as planned. Her best friend as the hero. Her cousin as the villain. No room for strangers who didn't know the work she'd already finished. The archive of completed Miis wasn't a place for last-minute additions, no matter how much the comments wanted in. Mira typed a response to both viewers. She thanked them for watching and told them episode one's cast was set, but future episodes would pull from fan suggestions. Then she hit post and closed the laptop. The bell had rung when those first strangers showed up, dented and worn from years of other creators making this same choice. Now she knew what it felt like to say no to people who wanted to be part of something before it even existed. The recording could still happen today, exactly as she'd planned it.
