The demon practices until the symbols burn steady in the darkness. Now it's ready to write the first name. But the book demands more than symbols in the air. The demon opens the cursed pages again and studies the dark rituals described inside. Each ritual requires specific items—bones arranged in patterns, blood poured in circles, words spoken in the old tongue. The demon traces its claw across one page. This ritual binds a victim's name to the book forever. The demon memorizes every word and every step. It closes the book and speaks the first phrase aloud. The air around the altar grows colder. The second phrase makes the candles flicker. By the third phrase, the symbols on the stone glow bright red. The demon's red eyes burn with satisfaction. The ritual works.
